Metra's flagship TV weather graphics product Weatherscape XT has been launched on the Nine Network in Australia.

A key focus for the Channel Nine weather bulletins is accuracy of information and strong visuals, which clearly and simply communicate the full weather story to viewers. "Weatherscape XT provides Nine with a key point of difference for our weather, it has the power and flexibility to enable us to customise our weather in exciting and dynamic ways – and the single supplier arrangement for data and graphics certainly makes sense and our weather is now easier for the viewers to interpret" says Cameron Jurd Network Director of Creative Services.

In addition to Weatherscape XT Metra also provides all weather data and briefing services to Channel Nine in each of the Networks briefing centres in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Weatherscape XT provides up to 18 weather shows a day across the network. Metra's International Marketing Manager, Tom Sutherland says "Nine was looking for an integrated solution that provided sophisticated weather graphics supported by timely and accurate data from a single supplier.

Metra succeeded in implementing the solution within a tight timeframe across Nine's three broadcast centres. Weatherscape XT enables the Nine Network to share data and show graphics across Channel Nines' three broadcast centres so that show consistency and content are maintained on a 24/7 basis".
